Using a turbo that's been stored for years

Hey all, my turbo died last week - sounds like a siren when it spools up, smoke comes out of the center of the turbo... not too much shaft play tho.
Anyway, I've had a ct26 on a shelf in the garage for about 8 years. It worked well and only had about 15K miles on it when it was taken off the car. I did put oil in it when I stored it.
What precautions should I take before installing it this weekend? Will just priming it with oil be enough to keep it from dying prematurely? I'd rather not pull it all apart but I will if I need to.
Thanks!

I would recommend running a bit of oil through it periodically (hopefully you did) to keep it lubricated. If you haven't done that, I would check with someone like Albert on here, or call up Arizona Turbo and Tractor in Phoenix, ask for Joel, he should be able to give you a good answer. :)
