Hi All,

I'm looking at changing my JDM/EUDM climate control, to a USDM digi climate control.
I have obtained the climate control unit already(but now need the plug and wiring harness, and as many associated relays\sensors- Shamless plug for my wanted thread :naughty: )

Now there doesn't seem to be much info on this, and I don't think its actually been done yet, however I have read in another thread,

That the US guys have converted their climate control units to JDM.

If its possible one way, it should be possible the other.

Does anyone have any more info on changing the US to JDM(maybe I can reverse engineer the info, and make it work for me).

Thanks in advance
Sam

Okay, from what i understand, the USDM climate control unit is both the controller and contains all the ECU's/Amplifiers used in the climate control system.

The rest of the world JDM/EUDM uses the slider thingies - which is a control box ONLY. The amplifiers and ECU's are scattered around the dash still. You *could* swap the USDM one into the EUDM car, but it would necessitate a LOT of wiring/splicing.

hi im trying to sort this out aswell:)

Bought the US climate and the plugs but I need to get hold on the wiring diagrams forwith the both EU climate wiring and the US wiring - in order to splice it up:) Where do you locate all the diff. wiring diagrams for the diff. years and models NA/GTE?

MInes a converted NA/to 7mgte but with the body wiring for the 87 nA:-(

Hmmm Smells like BIG PROJEKT:nono:

Kai, did you ever test fit the unit in your car? As you know the US unit is alot longer and a little thicker, though face is the same dimensions, the mounting tabs are different too. Just want to know if it actually fits in our dashes.

ok, looks like your trying to do exactly what I'm doing.

Mines an 86.5 NA->T.

Here's what I've found so far :
Looking at the schematics, it looks like 89+ cars US and non US use alot of the same AC components, ie relays, sensors etc. I could probably splice it all together, and if I got my hands on a US plug then life would get alot easier,

But, my problem is that my AC running gear is pre 89, so most of my relays etc have different part numbers.
So I'll have to either source an 89+ AC harness and running gear, or try and figure out which parts I can use\splice on my existing harness.

I'm still in the early stages of researching this, and haven't really put that much effort in, but once I have more detailed info, I'll post it up.

Oh and for wiring diagrams, I used the following:
1990 US : http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/
1986 not sure what country(will need to confirm with Supragirl): http://www.supra.co.nz/87tsrm/uktewd/8688TEWD.pdf

And for components for US and EU for all years : http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/

Let me know if you have anything to add.
