pull 7MGE w/trans, separate, connect "new" engine to trans, install, connect and run?
Assuming the new engine is ready to go, about 5 hours.
Then again, it could take some people a month...
well the new 7m was jdm and i had to change all the egr stuff over and while it was out we removed all the ps lines resevoir ac stuff and anything un wanted. then we spent like 2hrs trying to get the trans back to gether with the engine.... what a bitch.
but i guess we are going to put it back in tommorrow. this was me and my neighbor. hes 17 and doesnt really know much about supras as this is his first one.
I just spent like 5 hours trying to get my GE back in.
For some reason this is the only time I wasnt able to drop the whole assembly (Block head and trans) in all at once. It got stuck so I had to pull the head off and put it in like that which was easy as hell.
took one afternoon to take out, one more to put new one back in. but we sit and bullshit and goof off so much it could have all been done in one night. plus we go for food and shit a few times.
Sometimes those top bellhousing bolts alone feel like 5 hours of work!
But yeah, if you started at noon, finishing before sundown sounds very reasonable.
this is the first time i have swapped the whole motor and tranny it took us about all day from 9am til 6pm to get the old one out and remove ac and other crap get motor setup to go back in and bolt tranny to it. were going to put it back in today. but im basically doing it myself.

well we got the jdm one in today in about 1.5 hrs but we got it all hooked up and full of fluids and ..... nothing. turns out the jdm harness is different from the us version. only about 6 plugs didnt match up.
so i called the guy i got the motor from and he decided to tell me that i have to swap the harness. so i spent the rest of the day pulling and swapping all the us parts to the jdm engine including the harness.all i have left to do is rewire a plug i cut off. and connect it to the ecu.
