Hey all,

This is my official build up thread of my car:

1990 RHD Supra
Fully loaded
2.5L Twin Turbo
Purchased May 2007 with 71k on the clock
Mica Green

This is a photo of it from Japan as it was purchased (purchased locally from a police man if you can believe that :biglaugh: )

After I purchased the car I drove it around with a huge grin on my face for all of the summer (I have never owned a car before, only large 4x4 pickups) And have been please with the car in just about every aspect.

Pros:
Amazing handling (due in part to the Bilstein suspension package from factory)
Great throttle response (twin turbo)
Comfortable (Recaro seats)
Reliable "get in and go" drive ability (from previous owners taking amazing care of car)

Cons:
Rear window wiper doesn't work (all rusted up from insufficient use)
Rear window squeaks (assuming the rear bump stops)
A/C pumps out mild/poor cold air (assuming needs to be recharged)
Chips in the pain (looks like previous owner drove behind dump truck)

At the end of the sunny seasons I have put Katsumi into my garage for the winter. Progress didn't really happen to the car over that period, but I sure have been looking forward to this coming sunny season!

Sad news though before the car was put into my garage, there was a minor accident outside my house and an elderly woman hit my car, scraping the paint down the left side of my car, and smashing my mirror. A new mirror was purchased from the states (private seller) and the car was due for repairs this spring.

Finally spring came around and I had decided that I would pay the difference for the car to be fully painted and for my "supra" decals down the side to be airbrushed into the paint. Here are some pics as of April 17 2008 from the shop. Notice the absent rear wiper hole :icon_bigg

(camera phone pics, sorry about quality)

Once the car returns, I will have some more detailed pics of the paint for everyone..

To save some costs, I removed all of the outer trim which I will paint myself and install once the car is back to me. (thinking of black or gunmetal, any suggestions?)

I also have purchase some goodies that are awaiting installation...

Oh very nice. What did the paint end up costing you to get done. I want to get mine repainted the dark green mica but only want to take it to a shop that can match it really well. How close of a match was the paint?

So you're sticking with the giant SUPRA emblem on the sides huh?

You bet I am, and those are HAND PAINTED emblems down the side, cheaper and better looking results that buying those huge decals

how much did you pay BTW?

Will be able to tell you soon, will probably be picking the car up on friday, would be a nice present for my birthday (saturday :icon_bigg)

Here is also a video I made up last night of me at "Thunder in the Valley" 2007 with my stock supra :D (sorry about random sound, but these were clips from a DVD i got in the mail. the white supra is a local here on the island too. His car is a 7M with auto)

**stock supra with 2.5 TT + stock street tires + first time = 14.9 1/4 mile and a great thrill

Back from paint.... now comes assembly. (and of course the day i bring it home it rains!! arrrg)

Oh and a side note, seems the new paint sure grabs attention, didn't park it for more than 30 seconds and 2 people flocked to it :p In the sun the green sure comes out in amazing colors, just wish i have a sunny day soon to get some "light" pics for you all.

Need to do:
-install lights and other do-dads (fix front light :p)
-paint trim and install
-install dynomat
-install coilovers
-install wheels (when they get here)

Thats a pretty good idea to paint the emblem (under a clearcoat I assume) It will last much longer that way and provided the painter did his job the way he was supposed to it will look way better than the original.

That is a great color btw.

all said and done, 3000 cash (was a friends and family price) they put over 60 hours of prep time alone into the car (she is baby smooth) and the paint is top notch show quality.
