Well its been a long time coming and I have been doing a lot of work on the car as of late. I figured I would start my build thread finally. I don't mind constructive criticism but I don't wanna here all trash talk. This is my first supra.

I got the car in July of 2011 My brother went down to pic it up for me because I found the car in Southern Mi for 1300 bucks and 71000 Miles. I was in the military stationed in VA SO He drove the car back to his place in northern MI only to realize it need a few things. But the first thing to fix was the blown out exhaust gasket the burnt a hole in my wireing harness. Heres the pics from when I first got it.

I went an picked it up from Mi at the end of August of 2011 after he replaced the gasket for me and drove it all the way back to Va with no issues. First thing I did was replace the Armrest and shifter Boot.

then I got a cone filter and adapter.
294751_278362235523980_3481359_n.jpg

Then I wanted to get rid of that horrible paint job it had so I thought I'd try to paint it myself. I put a tent up over the car so they wernt ideal condition's. We got a big wind storm and the tent blew over so it wasn't percfect. But I have now been trained since being in the NAVY so in the future I will do it again. But it looked a 100% better.

Before even driving anywhere I rolled my rear fender and installed my coilover's I don't recall who made them. I bought them from a member in here that made them for our cars but stopped his business.

I was driving one evening and My 3rd Gear started Growl only when I would give it gas. If I woulf let off it would stop. Car still seemed to move fine but just the growling noise. So it was time to pull the motor and trans and I figured while it was out I might as well finish the engine and make everything look pretty.

Well I got the motor running today. Still need to address the idle cant seem to get it to idle it self but with fot on gas it runs good. Timing prolly still needs adjusted a bit. But I started the break in process and got it down the rd from my cousins house where I was turning around to bring it back home and BOOM. The fan and fan shroud went into pieces over my winshield and a piece of it went into the radiator. So I pushed into my cousins driveway where it now sits. I need to get a radiator and some new houses and I think a new temp sensor. After that I can get it back home and change the oil and hopefully address the idle issue that im still pretty clueless about as of now. I do have the aftermarket cams so Im thinking I need to adjust the idler screw also.

Nice car and good progress!

I`m sorry but I had to laugh when I read about your fan shroud exploding because the exact same thing happened to me after my rebuild. I took the car for it`s first drive with the fresh engine and heard a huge crash from the engine, no flying debris though just busted shroud and a big gash in the rad.

Iirc a new fan shroud from Toyota is about $100
