Trunk Latch/Security system not registering

Ok, so after replacing my speakers, I noticed that when I close the hatch, the trunk light does not go off as it did before, and when I lock the doors, the security light does not come on. It registers that the hatch is closed, because the door ajar light goes off, but at the same time, is seems like it doesn't register. Any ideas?

Both of those functions are controlled by the latch switch. It's the little exposed contact with the single wire right at the latch that gets grounded when the latch is set. Pull the center rear interior panel for access.
