So recently I rebuilt my 1988 7mgte. Pretty much stock with manual gearbox, used a N/A intake cam at first. The crank was put at 0 degrees, like the TSRM says; the middle hole on the cam gear.
As I started it, it was running on 3-4 cylinders. There's a valve tick also.
I've tried a couple different things - changed the spark plugs (it ran a bit better after that), changed to turbo cam (ran a bit better again), tried changing the timing belt to the left and right by one tooth, nothing... ( I remember that when I bought it, just before the rebuild, the timing belt was 1 tooth off, and after correcting it, it ran worse).
Now it looks like the 3rd cylinder isn't working - only this spark plug was wet.
The cheap-ass-A/F gauge shows normal conditions, but there's quite a smell comng from the exhaust.
Yesterday, before the cam change etc. there was idle, but today it doesn't run without pressing the gas.
Stock turbo gauge shows vacuum at idle rpms and doesn't move until 3k rpm, aftermarket boost gauge shows about 0 and moves into vacuum when applying throttle.
Tried the codes, turns up number 51. Switch Signal
Diagnosis
* No "IDL" signal, "NSW" signal or "A/C" signal to ECU, during diagnosis check.
Trouble Area
* A/C switch circuit
* A/C switch
* A/C amplifier
* Throttle position sensor circuit
* Throttle position sensor
* ECU
I also couldn't find the right stick-in location for this plug. This plug itself is under the intake.
That's all I can remember for now. Anyone any suggestions, please?
I'm truly exhausted....
Thanks.
