tranny usage?

quick question. i believe that both the 7mgte and 1jz both use the same auto tranny... but the 7m tranny wont bolt up to the 1jz will it?

im sure it dosent but i just wanted confirmation.

i can get a 1jz and 7m for the same price.. but i have a 7m auto tranny and id rather put it in and have it running for now till i can get the r154 swap than have to wait... im a little impatient?

what should i do?

get the 1jz and mounts, and wait till i have enough for the r154 and bellhousing and swap.

or stay 7m and have it running till i can get the r154 swap?

just curious.

and please no 7m is better, or 1jz is better crap. cuz they are both very capable motors and i'd go either way, even tho id like to go 1jz if possible.

In countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road, they have JZA70's stock. One owner said the automatic was called A342E, not 340. I would assume it to be similar, but your bellhousings are different.

i know that the jza70 came stock and only in right hand drive configurations. from what research ive done i thought it came with the a340e as well. but i guess they mount diffferently since the r145 needs different mounts for the 1jz and 7m..

i was just checking to make sure.

i still havent decided on what to do with the motor situation.
