The slave cylinders of those two trannys are far from the same.


Here is an R154. Notice the inspection holes in the side of the bellhousing.

Easiest way to tell the different is if the tranny has an inspection plate it's got an r154. If not... It's a w-58.

True, just jack up your car and look at the slave cylinder. If it looks like the one in the picture then its a R154, slave cylinder bolts face the from the of the car. If it has a slave cylinder with 2 bolts on the top holding it to the bell housing going towards the passenger side then its a w58.
