I have now gone through my third r154 in my mk3 @ 700 whp. i know a stock tranny will never hold up to that power, and i intend on getting more. i have made a thread in the past for some suggestions if I should stick with the r154 or go for the gtrag. now i am just looking for some advice on to what is the best way to build the tranny any one ( parts . build shops, etc...too). is there any one here who has 700+ hp and has a built tranny , be it r154, auto, 6 speed that can offer me some advice, that would be appreciated. i will go for the best option with the best results. i believe in a do it right once, and try to keep it at that.

everyone that i have called said they cant promise me anything for 500+ tq.......

i just want a tranny that will hold up to 700+ tq, and im willing to pay to play. just need the guidance...

thanks guys........

Marlin Crawler race R154 is around 2000 us plus ups . I called in the past and he told me that there's no warranty! Why don't you look at a 6 speed (v160) it was matched for your 2jz.

I have a marlin Crawler race r154 rebuild. It costs me 1900 plus 140 for shipping. The trans has a 1 year warranty from the day you recieve it.

What type of power are you making and how long have you been using for?

Thanks.....

I just got my car running. Still working out a few things before I dyno. But I'm pretty sure I wont be making more then 500rwhp until I get a bigger turbo.

CZA: what do you keep breaking inside the 154's?

i am in the process of repairing a shattered oem thrust washer that i upgraded to the marlin piece. just wondering what else is prone to going out on these, besides shift fork.. right now im at 500hp and plan on going up to 600+

If you already have the trans, look into the marlin crawler rebuild kit available Here: http://www.suprastore.com/ulrbukitfsh.html I have no experience with it myself, but my buddy has been running over 500whp with it for more than a year with no probs. He said the shift is close to BMW precise with it as well. Important to note that he has the C's short shifter and counter weighted TRD shift knob installed to achieve the shift quality and positive feedback. Hope this helps.
