timing issue?

could it be a possibility that the dist. is off by a tooth either way,and that be the reason the timing cannot be set right? it has been reset like 10 times and even when you set it to -10 like it says its still running crapy and missing.

To answer the question, yes. If the gear is off, the reading will be too.

i think i got it fixed. it must have been off it seems to run alot smoother. no misfiring. the tps is still where it was when i got the car the first time. i havent moved it at all.
