I've been trying to track down this noise for a while and I finally found it. My timing belt is slapping against the side at ~1750rpm (and wavering again at ~3500rpm, just not bad enough to slap). Any other rpm's (higher or lower) it straightens up nice and tight. At first I thought it might be an issue with tension, but this is on the side that is not on the tensioner pulley. It's a brand new belt. Anybody ever seen this before? Is the belt stretched?
I've got a pretty crappy video up if you want to see it (or rather hear it). You may want to turn your speakers way down for this one because the audio really sucks and it hurts the ears at any sort of real volume. If you're looking for the waver it's easiest to see towards the end of the video.
