This Is Weird,engine Oil Level

My 1jz's dip stick registers the oil very late after an oil change, its if as the oil is taking long to drip down to the oil pan. I've never seen anything like it, I work on diesels and they immediately register right after I pour and start engine ,then recheck level. Im using valvaline VR1 50 sae, how many quarts does a 1jz take? (OEM specifications)

my 2j is about 5.5-6 liters

i'd pull the valve cover and verify the oil galleries aren't clogged with gummed up oil and crap.

The 1JZ only needs 4.5 litres of oil

Good idea Rosa , I haven't noticed any sludge but im gonna double check the galleries
