put in a new thermostat today.the one the car parts store gave me is a 180, but the one i pulled out looks like it says 195. Should i be worried about it or does it really even matter?

For the average OAT in WA state, you want a stock 190 T-stat...either Toyota or a Stant SuperStat. Any other brand is crap. before you cut the jiggle valve off, I would test it in a pot of boiling water...while it heats up, not when it opens. I've bought brand new stats that did not open when they were suppose to.

Not to hijack but...
How big of a deal is the jiggle valve removal? I recently freshened up my cooling system and put in a new oem thermostat and left the jiggle valve in. I have no problems over heating or air in the system or anything else.

I meant to remove it before I put the thermostat in after reading yours and JJ's advice, I just forgot about it. So I'm just wondering if I should do it now, next time I have the coolant out or just leave it since all is well.
