Car ran 13.7 @ 14 psi with street tires. Traps @ 117 mph. Maybe 400WHP @ 14 psi. Crank up the boost and you got a 700+WHP Mk3. Traps speed of 117 is a high to mid 12 sec Supra.

Video of car.

I think the 12 second deal is a lack of being able to hook up correctly in these cars, plus needing the right tires and suspension setup...But that's for another thread.

Yep. That and area under the curve.

Supras= not for drag racing. You can build anything to drag. You just have a huge up hill climb if you are taking the Supra.

Running high 13's and trapping at 117mph doesn't reflect the gearing as much as it does the take off.

(ie: With a 2.1 60ft, you will trap higher than you would with a 1.7 60 ft.)

:Ninja edit: ...and No, I wasn't arguing with you. Just shedding some light. ;)

Always? No. Majority of cases? Most likely.

It's just basic math with covering 60 feet in a shorter amount of time means getting to your destination (1320ft) quicker, which would make a faster E.T but your trap speed won't typically be as high.

Just as an example, I've got a friend that runs 11.59 @ 114mph w/ a 1.59 60 foot.
With the exact ET (11.59) and a slightly worse 60', trapped at I believe 118.

Like I said, it's not always the case because there are so many factors in determining what causes what, but it's very common...especially amungst the Supra community. :D

That vid does not really show much. You should post some photos and state more about the condition of the whole car as a whole.

nah. The only 2J you'll ever see me with would be in a MK4. :)

If I hit the lotto, I still vote for 7M'ing a MKIV just so after a 800rwhp build, fellow MKIV'ers will say, "WOW, what do you have done to that?!"

and then...

All hell breaks loose. :icon_bigg
