I recently got my 1J swap back from Driftmotion -- EXTREMELY PLEASED!!!!! The car is beautiful and CLEAN.

I need to do some work on the suspension to bring it back to life. I've considered the Tein Flex and the K-Sport Kontrol. Both have the same spring rates. Both come with new top mounts, but the Tein is a pillow ball, while the K-Sport has a rubber bushing. The K-Sport can be ordered with the pillow ball mount for a nominal charge.

Here's my question --> For a car that will be a street car for fun is the pillow ball mount a good idea? I want a smooth, but responsive ride that sticks to the road. I do not want a jarring or rough ride. I'm currently at approx 325hp and do not anticipate going over 500hp after changing the twins to a bigger single when they eventually fail.

What feedback to you K-Sport owners or Tein Flex owners have?

Thanks,

Bruce

Honestly man, I would go for the Megan Coilovers. I just put a set on my car and I love them. They have the pillow ball mounts and they are 32 way adjustable. They ride great and for $950, that's hard to beat.

But, if you are stuck on those 2 that you mentioned, I'd get the Tein's.

here you go. The first will help you understand 'what' you are doing and 'why'
the second will give you a third option (along with useful info, more what and why)

I actually posted this before. If you really want to improve the handling of your car without it riding like complete shit, then you should know what you are changing to and why you made that choice. Being that I'm on my 3rd set-up, this would have helped a long time ago (and saved me some cash along the way)

I really lowered my car to make it look better. I used Tein coilovers, and they ride really good. I haven't tried any other coilover or any other combination, so I don't have anything else to compare it too. Good luck.
