So I'm attempting(with the help of some SM members) to replace the input shaft bearing along with the needle roller bearing on my w58.
I have the front extension housing off and I'm trying to get the input shaft out with the least amount of disassembly. (makes for a better chance of getting it back together
)
Does anyone know how to remove just the input shaft? The TSRM lists the process for taking the ENTIRE tranny apart, but I really only want the input shaft. The first counter gear below the input shaft seems to be the culprit holding in the input shaft, as well as the shifter linkage.
Any tips as I start taking the shifter rod out?
Any easy way to go about this?
Anyone had experience with it?
Thanks a million. You guys rock !!!
Pics coming soon.
