I used the 3M stuff that came in an orange box for my previous MK3s and it was a bit thicker than the 3M orange box I got recently. The stuff I used before was a bit thicker and worked great! No leaks and airtight.

So anyways, have done the targa leak fix on the wife's MK4, using the "liquidy" 3M stuff from an orange box... Two times already!

So obviously the 3M stuff today is not what I got a few years back. Since I have to do this a 3rd time, what have you all used successfully, to fix the common targa top leak?

Thanks

+1, just ordered mine week before last it was only like $40 something.. which is pretty cheap for a gasket of that size

I had NO idea those were that cheap. I thought I called toyota about that and they quoted me 90 per side. I'm definitely getting new weatherstripping. :)

I gotta redo it again as well, as the drip rails didn't seal...

previous owner was a tard and really screwed up the drip rails, might end up buying a whole new targa and refurbishing it...
