t.s.r.m/efi system check procedure

I'm in the t.s.r.m efi section reading on how to inspect terminals on the ecu.now they are showing symbols for example,cold start injector,stj and start switch sta.now it shows the volt reader and the to connectors with it.my question is do i leave the neg connector that is to the volt reader on E1 and the positive on the different symbols that i'm checking.That is the only procedure that i'm not sure about.Incase anybody wants to look at what i'm talking about it is on page FI-32 in the t.s.r.m.Any sarcastic and positive feedback would be greatly appreciated:icon_razz

If you can't operate a space bar I fail to see how you plan on using a meter but column 2, labeled "Terminals", in that chart tells where the meter leads go. As you can see E2 should be referenced for sensors and E1 for most everything else. "Referenced" means to put the negative lead of the meter on those terminals. Use the positive lead on the signal you wish to measure. Also, the chassis can be substituted for E1 but it's not good practice.

Lastly, item 2 on the chart is wrong. It's one of several mistakes in the TSRM. You will not see 4-5 volts on VTA with the "throttle valve fully open". Around 3.5 volts is typical...
