I'm in the middle of swapping out 1JZ's in my JZA70. My replacement engine did not come with a wiring harness (engine only) so I will be utilizing my existing one. Just wondering if there are any guide's out there for doing this? Is it worthwhile/necesarry to remove the intake manifold? Any other tips/suggestions from anyone that has gone through this job would be appreciated! Thanks,

pulling the intake makes it way easier. But what you can also do, which is a pain in itself, is disconnect the ecu and pull the wiring harness back into the engine bay and pull the engine with wiring harness and then it's easier to pull the manifold and rest of the harness. then you can install onto replacement engine before re-installing in car.

Yeah that's the direction I ended up going. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be actually. Think I might just swap the whole intake manifold with wiring harness so I don't have to mess around pulling the harness out.
