So i started off my build thread on toyotaminis.com , it started out as i bought a 74 hilux with a engine fire and was planning on bagging it and what not to have a mini truck. well after a few months it went on and on and became something totally ridiculous but its totally fun and im loving every bit of it.

-So started with the 74 Hilux pickup
-Bought a 7mge as i thought it was going to be a cool motor swap
-Found a buddy with a 7mgte with a BHG on like a 5k mile rebuilt engine ( bearings, oem pistons / rods / belts etc)
-Then i thought, it would be cool to have the front subframe for my motor to mount on to and then i could get rid of the crappy front suspension the truck had.
-THEN i found a 88 Supra for 250$ that i had delivered to my house, ended up cutting the whole thing up, taking everything i could possibly think of using off it.
-Plan is to do full dash interior seats gauges yaDa yaDa, using both front and rear subframes, 7mgte with stock ct26 turbo, in proccess of finding a transmission, the subframes were attatched to whats left of the truck frame so its now a 110 inch wheel base, so im going to get a 1 peice drive line made to fit the truck.

Here is a link to my original build thread:

And heres a little picture fast forward without all the details of my original build thread, i would enjoy any questions compliments, or even a "hey your sh!t sucks", let me know what you all think, thanks.

I hate this. I hate it. Still, I am enthralled and looked at every pic. It's like the "biggest zit" vids on youtube; just cant look away. LOL.
I wanna see it done! ;)

Are you still building out the frame over the rear subframe? Or are you planning to have it attached just at the front?
Is there any other reinforcement being done to the subframe?

for now its just attached off the front, i will being doing a lot of reinforcement in the front and rear, for now it was just to get it rolling on the subframes to get it out of the shop for other projects, i will be building off the back end for the bed supports that i cut off, and i will build off the front to replace the core support i cut off the front, and again lots of reinforcement all over the frame, im kinda at a stand still until i get a transmission

Looks good so far. I look forward to some action shots of it going around a bend. :) This thread might get moved to the "other cars" forum, but I don't know for sure.

Is the wheelbase the same as it was on the supra? Otherwise I think the steering geometry will be slightly off.

Wow. I don't know what to say. It could be a never ending project. It could cost a lot of money. But I appreciate seeing new life in an old Hilux. Do you think you will build a cage? Those struts are waaayy up there so that's why a cage would provide a mounting point for them. Or maybe try some coilovers that are shorter.

Sunroof was pressure tested and no leaks, i live in pacific NW, lol rain almost 300 days a year :)

I am going with coilovers, i found some short 11 inch coils that are used for hot rods that i will be using.

Yeah for 7m series !

The wheelbase is 110, based of the hilux, im working with the steering right now, but im kinda slowed at the moment waiting to get the coils on and get my subframes off the ground

thanks for replies :)
