i was checking this rebuilt short block on ebay. seems to be legit, the company looks reputable and the price sounds good. they claim to have replaced the pistons, main rod bearings, even a reground crank. anybody ever order a short block from them? i just bought a rebuilt cylinder head and its to factory specs, now my other question is if i order this short block theoreticly the headgasket should just go on and drop the head then retorque..right? is there any neccasarry procedures you have to do with new heads and new blocks before putting on the headgasket?

If everything is "reconditioned" then yes everything should just bolt right up. What's the link to the site? New oil pump?

I personally wouldn't reuse head bolts.

They're not expensive. So its really not a bad idea to buy a new set thru ARP. They go for $100 brand new.

Oil pump: Think of the oil pump as the heart that is pumping the blood in your chest. (Buy a new one)

You don't want to reuse the old pump. You install it before you put the pan on. Before you put the timing belt on, put a quart of oil in and put a drill on the end of the oil pump gear in the front of the motor and on slow speed let it turn until you see oil coming up to the head.

There are 2 dowel pins, they are in the block that basically line up the head with the block and to hold head gasket in place whilst you put the head on. :]
