stuck in park!!

i went out for a drive this afternoon and my car would not come out of park (auto trans). after a moment of scratching my head i push the shift lock button and pulled it into drive. this is new, i have never had to do this before and as it went into drive, it was pretty nosiey (clunk). the car seemed to drive fine but, i did not beat on it to much.
any ideas???? i just got the old girl back on the road after a BHG!!!! running strong on a CT26 60 upgrade with Maft Pro. but, now transmission issues......

Just sounds like a sticky solenoid in the shiftlock that's decided to unstick and work properly.

correction i should have said that i had to push the "shift lock over ride" button to go from park to drive. i have checked for trans codes and nothing, this weekend i will check the shifter linkage adjustment, change fluid and clean the screen. maybe that will take care of may woes.

If you change the screen/fluid, you might want to read this:

I use Castrol Import ATF (Dex III) in mine. If you do the change per the link above, you'll need 10 quarts.

thanks, i found it it was a lose brake light fuse. plugged it in tight and no problem back in buisness.
