Stripped downpipe studs

Well, I have two stripped downpipe studs, on the Y-pipe end obviously. One stud is excellent, one stud is toast, and the last on is toast for the first 50% of it, than great threads after that. I might be able to buck the third stud's crappy threads off, and make it work.

Anywho I haven't had enough time to see how difficult putting in a new stud or two would be (I imagine not so simple). I am also thinking that while running a Die on the threads MAY work, it might not hold great since there is not much meat left on the one stud. Is there any chance some nice person knows the thread size/pitch on them?

I have the tranny out, so that definitely should make life a little simpler. I am basically just seeing if anyone else has been stuck in this predicament, or has advice.

Thanks for your time guys.

goto a parts store and look for the generic toyota/ford studs they should be the same and a couple of dollars. (it was the help! line of products if they have them where you live) it comes with 3 studs and 3 bolts

So for anyone else unfortunate enough to run into this same problem, what I ended up doing was ramming a nut on it about 3/4 the way up with an impact. It cross threaded the nut to all holy hell, but thats ok. Than I welded the nut to the stud, than stuck the impact back on the nut on reverse and voila! both came out. It may take 2 or 3 attempts welding the nut to the stud because you have to do small beads or tacs so the socket fits over the nut still.

There really isnt much room to use vise grips or anything, but I found this worked great.

tlo86 - Thanks again and you were right, it was labeled ford manifold repair kit or something dumb like that.
