strange sound

for some reason my my presure regulator was sounding like thier was a water fall inside when i had the key position to on.the engine was not on,but at the same time i was checking the m.a.f sensor.why would the regulator make this noise when the engine was'nt even on?

On a N/A? It shouldn't. There's a safety in the VAF which cuts power to the fuel pump unless the vane is open at least a few millimeters. If that's been bypassed or the vane isn't closing all the way for some reason the pump will start when the key is in the "ON" position.




BTW - The GTE has a fuel cut like this too, it's just controlled differently as there's no place in a KVAF for a mechanical switch.
