strange knock?

Well I was on my way home from work a few weeks ago and I noticed that I heard some kind of strange knocking noise, almost sounds like rod knock. I noticed it a lot in 1st !t llike 2800 and 2nd at 2800. But when I got home I had a friend rev my car in incraments of 500rpm untill I got to 4000rpm and I did not hear it? Is there any for sure way I can tell if its a rod or not?

May not make the sound when the engine is just free-reving. Also, if you don't have a stethascope handy, you can use a long ratchet extension. Place on the block and put the other end to your ear. That is, if you can get it to make the noise while you're under the hood!

I just bought my Supra a couple months ago and I had a similar noise. I couldn't figure it out and was worried it was rod knock. It turns out the bolt on the front of the balancer was so loose you could tighten it by hand. Once I tightened it back up the noise was gone. Hopefully driving it around like that for a week didn't damage my crankshaft.

could be your clutch mine sounds like rodknock push the clutch in its gone...its not a loud knock but i can hear it

Check your motor mounts or for loose bolts.
