Hey fellaz, yet another problem i need help with. it started with a full tank of premium gas and two bottles of (stp octane boost) car ran fine till after i burned up a third of the tank, it first started with some popping @ idle then it progresed into the power band. I could not get past 2500-3000 rpm @ full throttle with out sputtering like crazy almost like light fuel cut, but easy driving its okay. i pulled the plugs and they were a brownish color exccept for #5 cyl. looked like it had beeen the one missfireing, So i ran down to pep Boys/ toys-r-us and got the only plug they had equivalent to the ngk bcpr7es that happens to have been ac delco #9 platimuns and a new set of ngk wires.
gaped the plugs to .30 and put them in along with new wires and it ran BEE-A-U-TI-FUL for 20 mile or so and back to the same f@&k up sputtering.
I'm frustrated, could i have fryed somthing, I love my toyota but (WTF!!) i've had chevy's that ran on almost anything with out a problem. this has to be something simple i'm runnig an hks air cleaner hallman mechanicle boost controler 255lpm fuel pump apex exhaust with 154k on the clock and have hit 13lbs o boost on a cool so cal night. keep in mind that it ran fine till i S-T-PEED the mutha fuka! i really like this car and all i want to do is drive the darn think..:1zhelp:

toys-r-us sells spark plugs?

saying you have an "HKS air cleaner" is a bit of a stretch, since they don't clean the air. Get an AEM DryFlow filter to replace that garbage.

Im guessing either the injectors are old and dirty, or you have a boost leak.

We'll start with the simple:

1.) Check the spark plug galley for water or oil. Take off your boost controller. Leave it off. Go drive the car. If the problem still persists...

2.) Lets check for boost leaks. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

3.) Make sure you're cats - most important the down pipe cat - isn't glowing red from being clogged

4.) Take the intake accordian hose off:
a. Inspect the turbo for compressor wheel damage
b. Check to make sure the turbo spins propperly
c. Check to make sure the accordian hose has no cracks or holes in it

5.) If all appears well, it looks like you'll be making a trip to R/C engineering. Have them clean your injectors.

Let us know what you find.
