Okay, bone head move of the month.

Jack up the car (front end) jack slips (have since bought a new kicka$$ jack) and crunches the black hydraulic tube just above my sway bar, attached to the steering system. I searched the TSRM and online here and only found 1 thread sort of mentioning what it is and as far as I can see it is the steering stabilizer/damper. I pulled it out, pounded it back into as good a shape as I could and reinstalled. Slight hesitiation in steering but very driveable and no binding concerns (steering is important right?)

If I remove this thing and drive without, should I expect any significant probelsm until I can hit the wrecker this weekend to get a new one? And what is the exact name for this thing anyway?

Thanks!

no it will be ok to run without it for a short period of time. Might make the steering feel a little wierd is all

Thats why you find it aftermarket not from the Stealership. I honestly have no idea what they cost though. Its basically just a shock absorber though, not exactly sophisticated
