when you remove one steering column and go to put the other back in, how do you get the intermediate shaft to go back together? i think it has to be lined up a certain way but im not sure.

please help i have to go get this car in about 4hrs and thats all i have left to do.

man, doing that sucks. When I did it I got it lined up with the steering column as best I could then started hammering on that screw that clamps it together utnil it slid on a bit (lots of wd40 in there to help, and wire brush all the shit off it too). then once it was on enough to stay itself, i made it so the steering wheel would telescope and pounded it in there.

You know the bolt that clamps it together rides in a channel, and interferes with the shaft, right?
You NEED to remove the bolt completely to slide the shaft off of the column. After you remove the bolt, the shaft should slide off easily, or require slight tapping. not "hammering" or "pounding"...

Just make sure the steering wheel is straight as well as the front wheels before putting the shaft on.
