k i got a turbo 87 and it is not starting or cranking, it happened a couple times a while ago never happened again, but this time it did it again i tried it a couple of times, finally pressed gas in and got it to start. I went to a friends house for like an hour turned key and nothing, tried and tried...nothing pressed gas and kept trying, nothing but i noticed a little smoke coming from under the tach so i stopped doing everything. later popped the clutch to get home.
im thinking its fuel related because it got it to start earlier by pumping the gas pedal, and my fuel is low.
but if it was fuel related wouldn't it crank?
the car is converted to map and uses a vpc so there are a lot of things unplugged all around, a co called mechanic said the starter wire was just unplugged but it has a turbo timer so im pretty sure it is unplugged for a reason, the starter is relatively new, other things could be clutch start switch, fusible link, ignition switch.
lmk anything else to further diagnose this please, the smoke should be a clue to something
