i was having the same problems, when it is hot out my car won't start after i have gone somewhere. bishop encouraged me to change my starter contacts which are 10.00 from watson. i did that but i haven't had to drive the car yet during the day, but i started it a few times in the driveway and it responds quicker.
the contacts are very easy to change once the starter is out. i am also looking at my grounds and a new optima but i am having trouble finding reverse posts

just a suggestion. sounds kinda like something that happened to me but it might not apply. does your security alarm go off when you unlock your car?

i had this problem, got a new neutral safety switch. Problem fixed for a year, 2 months ago it resurfaced (just in time for summer) I took off the small cable that clips on starter and cleaned it off (had oil on it) and sparayed electrical parts cleaner on it and the starter. Since then its worked fine. I'd recommend cleaning the cable and try adjusting your neutral safety switch b/c it might be a tad off. Also whenever it doesnt start try going through the gears or rocking the car in neutral to see if it helps.
