So almost everytime I go to start my GA70 my starter makes kind of a grinding like noise. Similiar to the noise it makes when you turn the key while it is running.. It doesnt do this every single time I start it but, most of the time it does. Does this mean my starter is on it's last legs? FYI my car is equipped with a turbo timer in case that may have something to do with it.

I'd check to make sure your starter bolts are tight normally that happens when the starter dosent engage the flywheel correctly

either check the starter to see if it is loose and if it is not loose check the ring gear on the flywheel cuz i had a 86 ranger and i changed the starter like 5 times before i found out it was the ring gear

and if it is the ring gear you have to drop the tranny take off the flywheel

heat the flywheel with an Oxy-Acetylene torch and pop off the ring gear

get a new ring gear heat it up after the flywheel is cooled and then pop on the new ring gear and re-assymble

or if you cant get a ring gear say hello to a new flywheel
