I have a 1986.5 Supra 7mge new head arp bolts done right. When i first start the car it sputters for a bit till its heated up could this be because my bvsv/vsv nipple is broken. Also im overheating slowly and nothing too bad i put heat on outside vent and it stays in op. temp. on a cool day. Ive replaced thermostat, water pump, radiator cap, theres no leaks and its not a bhg. Ive run radiator flush 2 times and that helped but still slowly getting hot.

make sure you have all vacuum hoses routed correctly and no broken connectors/switches which can cause a small sputtering on first start-up, have you checked your radiator hoses and your radiator may have a small hole somewhere causing water to slowly leak out and cause overheating, or maybe your ignition timing is off which can cause overheating and possibly other problems as well. also i believe that the fan clutch may be slipping causing lack of airflow thru the radiator into the engine which can cause temp rising as coolant is not being cooled properly just check those

The ignition timing im pretty sure i did right i got the tics on the cam gears and the dots i made on the timing belt matched up and i used a timing gun set it to 10 at idle in test mode and unplugged the paper clip and it went to 12. The system holds 15 psi and the cap hisses like yours does but pressure tested it and it is in breat condition my understanding is the it realeases air but wont allow coolent through.

:EDIT: Also it stall after being warmed up because its trying to idol at 400 rpm and after a few moment s it can hold the idol that low and stalls.

check the ISCV? i had a faulty one before causing low idle at times and it wants to stall but after giving it a good cleaning she was great, as when you remove it from the intake manifold the stuff inside gets gunked up with burnt fuel? i assume as its dark charcoal-ish kind of residue

Are you setting the timing right away, or are you waiting until the car has warmed up?

Also, how bad is the hiss? Can you hear it just while leaning over the engine bay, or do you have to get really close to hear it?

its very faint and its coming from the radiator cap but thats normal its ment to allow air but not water out of the system. My BVSV is broken i bypassed the vacum hose from the charcoal canitster to the intake manifold ill look into getting a new one.

well i replaced my bvsv, radiator, steering wheel switch assembly, and haven't gotten to take it out to see if it will still do it the nut holding the hub and wheel bearing in place keeps backing itself odd.

Drives nice i feel like it has more power but the fan will stay on some times even in 5th on the highway, mechanical fan that is. Wont stall but idols at different speeds each time i come to a stop anywhere from 500 rpm to 800 rpm. I think it might be icv.

Gas smell is probably comming from the charcoal chanister, I know one of the hoses to it comes from the gas tank. Need to take care of that right away.
