ah man. i think they looks awesome. i love the front ends of them. actually the 2 doors i love the whole thing. the interior is one thing i would like to have new.
my clutch should be in this week and then my tranny will go back in. we should start a monthly meet up.
i still need to get my car safety and emissions tested.

Monthly meet wouldn't be a bad idea, at least when it's nice weather. You guys ever eat at Village Baker? Would be a good place for a pre- or post- meet lunch. :)

doug--- the registration thing is basically why i got rid of my corolla. i kept it in AZ where they are a godsend when it comes to registration. 30 bucks for 2 years and no tests or checks of any kind. hahaha. i got pulled over here in utah and they gave me two tickets. one for blue smoke (my catch-can had frozen condensation and i was getting blow-by whenever i hit boost) and another ticket for not changing my tags within 60 days of moving here. even though i had a military id and im a student. (i didnt pull the military id card out though. haha. which probably would've worked) the registration ticket would've cost 1200 but they tossed that ticket and i paid for the smoke one. it was 90, but judge bumped it down to 40. i had some tests done and so he hooked up me.

te72- is this bakery in AF. i know theres one on a back street over there. im down to meet in AF or wherever in utah county. how about we make them like the first friday or saturday of the month.

Blue smoke is a ticket-able thing? What about all these tools in their big diesel trucks smoking like crazy?

As for meets, would have to be a Saturday or Sunday for me, being that I have about a 2 hour drive to SLC in good weather... Weather being the only other consideration for me. Village Baker... God bless Google. Here ya go:

te72- i totally forgot you werent even in the same state. haha woops. yeah that sounds like a good spot. we could even meet in downtown slc to make your drive a little shorter.
yeah i guess blue smoke is ticket-able. i took the car in to tune-ex and paid them to do a 40 point inspection and they couldnt make it smoke. probably because it wasnt getting blow-by anymore. hahaha. i believe i took it off the megasquirt... not sure. anyways the kid had a megasquirted ford probe so we got to talking and he leaned on my side of things. but was still fair about it. gave me some good paperwork to prove my case. then it was so cheap that it wasnt worth fighting it. i even got 10 days in jail: suspended sentence. my mouth dropped. hahaha.

If you guys wanna meet up, you'll wanna probably PM me for fastest response. SLC is just a hop skip and jump away for me, it's only about 2-2.5 hours depending on how far in we go.

Anyone gonna be attending ALMS (American Le Mans Series) later this year? I went last summer, and had a blast. Would be a good place for a summer meet...

ya i REALLY dont get how they get away with it. not even blue smoke but there are some diesels i've seen around here that are SOOO bad if they really step on it and they are moving slow you cant even see through the cloud of black smoke. I think if you go to school or "live" in the area then they can legally go the whole registration route. not totally sure but if you tell them "Oh, I'm just visiting from out of town/state, etc..." you might be good. like there is NO WAY i could pass emissions/safety with my lights smoked but i've never been hounded by the cops about them either.

well thats a good thing you've never been hounded. you would have to keep your license and everything seperate. thats where i went wrong is i got a utah DL so that i could try and get in state tuition faster. it backfired cause now i dont have my corolla anymore. haha. oh well. the supra will be my new baby. i will try and build this one as slow as i did the corolla. which means ill have it for around 10 years too. haha.
we gotta meet up and get your hood shocks in doug.
