there arent really a ton of supra's where i'm usually at so all i usually run into driving are hondas, acuras, mustangs, etc... nothing really worth cruising with.

i'm not a big fan either. i to this day have been pulled over probably 17-18 times with only 4 tickets and all 4 have been the most recent 4 times i was pulled over. BLAH!!

lol ya i looked for some pics of your car on here on SM and saw those but havent seen ya around. i have a buddy who lives in AF who has a S2k blue 87 you may have seen.

reguardless if yours is super pretty or not we're trying to kinda get the supras together around Utah County so we can go on little weekend cruises or whatever.

Oh, and you might be able to blame the UHP thing on me... apparently passing a semi in the middle of the night in less than a second is a good way to indicate that you *might* be speeding a bit.

No way in hell did he catch me on radar, he was driving in the opposite direction on the other side of a ~100'+ median on I-15 just on this side of Cedar City I believe... just noticed me, shined his spotlight on me, flipped the lights on. Could have probably ran, but I pulled over and waited for a bit for him to catch up.

Gave me a ticket for 100 in a 75, but I'm probably lucky I didn't go to jail that morning.

dang that sucks... ya i got ticketed on state in provo racing some guy one night. going 87 in a 40 "street racing" that would've been a NASTY ticket but i somehow talked him down to 65 in a 40 and not racing but just speeding. he said he could impound my car but didnt. i wrote a letter to the judge and got it lowered to like $112 and did traffic school so no points so do you know how fast you were going over? cedar city/st george is known for pretty horrible cops willing to ticket anyone.

Really had no idea, this was my first road trip in a Supra, in an n/a auto no less, nice and quiet... I caught myself doing 120+ on a few different occasions, completely unintentional too. Just felt about like 80 or 90 in my old car, you know?

I have heard they are very particular about their 80mph stretches too. When the weather warms up again look me up, I would be interested in meeting other Supra owners. I am amazed that I have never seen your buddy's car around here. With a car that nice I would be afraid of taking it out on the streets what with all the crazy Utah drivers stopping at green lights, waving you through intersections, clueless as to how a four way stop works and don't even get me started about the round-a-bouts!

i had an 85 corolla gts that i sold after 10 years and built from ground up. still miss that car.
traded for a subaru... realized that was a stupid mistake and went back to the toyota side of the house.
glad to be back and in an 80's toyota again..

we definitely need to get together.

and i just found a kid on drift utah that also has as mkiii. not sure if anyone on here knows him though.

rebuilt the engine for boost. 7 rib bottom end 4agze pistons, oil squirters etc.....

built a stainless steel turbo manifold. and mild steel downpipe.

super quick ghetto hookup for test run. notice the aluminum foil plugging the hole. hahahah.
01 ebay honda half radiator with electric fan. fab'd up in there. made for way more space and
aluminum rad did great job.

oh and i megasquirted it as well. it was a beast when it was all buttoned up nice. loved the freeway and the surface streets. from 70-90 with one tap of the pedal.

Go to SILV... not far at all, and you'll get to cruise with a LOT more than just 5.

Good to hear man. I've been attending since 2006, whether I had a car of my own that year or not. It's like my annual ritual, my one chance to get away from the insanity that is Wyoming...
