Ok, I got my rotating assembly apart tonight, and think I finally found what my problem was. BUT, I wanted to run by a few more poeple to make sure im not wrong. I was told it was a spun rod

*Note these pictures are from the same crank lobe.

Just curious, how long was the motor run with the spun bearing/knock? I ask because I recently had a failed oil pump (low pressure) on a 2jz and my damage doesn't seem as bad and mine was making the most awful noises. I expected total carnage inside the case but when I popped it open it wasn't bad looking. But ya, mine sounded like hammer being rolled around inside a metal drum, with the occasional screeching throw in.

Like I noticed it...thought it was going to be ok to drive home, it didnt make it more then a mile to the gas station, and I shut it down and had it towed home the other 19 miles I think it was. And yea the same sounds cam from my motor....

Yikes sorry to hear that man, was exactly the same story for me, I thought I would make it home, when I started on my way the sound was barely audible then got so bad so fast that I had to pull over and didn't make it either.

Lol not your fault...you didnt tell my bearing to stop working. Wait, unless, maybe you did....are you creeping in my oil pan? Telling my oil squirters not to work?
