Sports or Preformance package???

I have been told my car has the preformance package onit. Mainly becuase it says preformance on the back left side. I looked it up and it said yes, they made them buttt i couldnt find anyother info. Does anyone know anything aabout the package or how to tell if it is. becuase the origional dealer just happened to be called PREFORMANCE Toyota. So yea its a Red 89 Targa N/A...:love:

IIRC the sport package had a 4.30 lsd, tems, and a rear spoiler

Sports package was TEMS, headlight washers, and the LSD. Wings are mainly on turbo cars, I'm not sure if it was on option on N/A's they could add at the dealer or factory but most N/A's didn't come with the wing.

Mine has the spoiler.. and she is an N/A... I am pretty sure that the sports/performance package came with the spoiler along with all the rest of the goodies, straight from the factory. I am not so much of a fan of the old style wing, and am curious to know how to go about getting the 89+ spoiler onto a pre 89.. anyone have some input?

The spoiler was never a factory installed thing in North America. The sport package included LSD, headlight squirters (pre-89 USA, all years Canada), TEMS (all years USA, 86.5-90 Canada), and progressive power steering (89+). LSD was available seperately as an option.

The spoiler was never factory installed on North American cars. I bet if you look at your hatch on your N/A with spoiler, you'll still see that the lines on the rear glass still have an open spot for where the 3rd brake light was originally mounted from the factory.

I've seen many many many N/A's with sport package without spoilers, for every year of the MK3.

My car is an N/A with the sport package and it does not have a wing. It was a dealer added thing.
