i have an 89 turbo and im having a problem with it spitting or jumping after being WOT for a few seconds when the boost reaches peak. its all stock other than hardpipe from intercooler to 3000 pipe. it has a aftermarket BOV from turbonetics, and its rated well. could it be from the BOV not being recycled? ive checked all IC hoses, and no leaks...kinda stumped. when it spits, and jumps (rapidly) the check engine light comes on but goes right off when i release the gas pedal...any ideas?

id check your codes first.

having a vented bov with i think would only cause issue when you let off the gas(bov vents) ecu thinks theres more air in there than actually is(if your using afm, not MAP)

It's not doing this during WOT? If it's doing it during WOT, it could be the plugs. You may not have them gapped properly, or they're just bad. If it's doing it after WOT, then it's probably throwing a code that will be stored. It might be an abnormal boost pressure or something. Let us know what, if any, codes are saved.

Check you codes as suggested...I'm betting a code 34 (fuel cut) pops up.
if it does, and you have not shimmed the turbo for more boost, you have a boost leak somewhere ;)

thanks ill check the codes. the wastegate has been shimmed, and it peaks at 8 or 9 psi without signs if spike, but i will investigate further.
