Just a story. Venting if you will. Somebody came up tonight, and it wasn't me:

Here's why you don't let idiots borrow your hand tools: They leave them out in front of their car for 10 minutes and go inside to bullshit around and come back out and they're gone. Yup. I let a friend borrow about $500 worth of hand tools, sockets, wrenches, miscellaneous stuff. Another friend goes to pick them up to work on his car. LEAVES THEM OUTSIDE for about 10 minutes. Comes back out. They're gone. Needless to say I am more than disappointed. At least he is willing to replace them. Although I was pretty dumbfounded as to how one can be so careless. But he is an idiot. I also will probably never let that friend who's house it occurred at ever borrow tools again. Although it wasn't directly his fault, I don't like his neighborhood for more than obvious reasons. Perhaps this is karma or payback for the wrong things that I have done. In any event, no use in pouting now. Just gotta be tool-less for a little while. And never let anyone borrow my tools again. Ever.

In the end, material possessions aren't worth making a fuss over. Parts are replaceable. When they're gone, it sucks, but they'll all have to be gone someday, as nothing is quite forever. We as humans tend to latch our identity to material things, as if it creates who we are. Addicted to, or ridiculed because of, I don't really care why or how you make fun of me, or do me wrong, whether you steal from me or intentionally hurt or try to hurt me. I will always be willing to shrug those things off, willing to forgive. I believe that everyone gets theirs in due time. The things I take, and things will be taken from me. So I want those people who stole my tools to do whatever they wish with them, it will only brings their heads lower to the ground, and dims the light in their souls that brings reason and conscience, drowning it out with greed and lawlessness.

Check your local pawnshops.........lol

I honestly think you're being way too forgiving. I've had alot of my tools stolen from me on construction sites, but I'm not wanting them to be happy with my tools. I hope they cut their freaking hand off while using my skill saws. Tools cost way too much money to be replacing all the time. I can't stand a thief, and have nothing but pain and suffering waiting for them if I find out who did it. Everyone handles things differently and I'm sure your way is better, but I would love to get my two hands on the person that has been stealing from me. After I beat their eyes in, I would then say a quick prayer wishing them a speedy recovery.............lol

Well, to update. I think I might have found my tools for sale from a scumbag trying to dump them off cheap and make a quick buck. I didn't file a police report yet cause I considered it a loss. After talking to him, though it doesn't sound liek my tool set I lost and could be a coincidental listing. Even so, I'm going to go see the tools, and if they are mine, tell him, if they aren't might as well buy them cheap to try to recoup my loss.

Went to go check out the suspicious set, wasn't my set. The box was brand new and just had a bunch of old tools dumped into it. My box was *ahem* a bit more used. Just a coincidence I guess.
