Solinoid or starter

When the temp is warm outside or the car is warm, my starter won't click. But as soon as the temp drops outside to about 70-ish degrees or cooler the damn thing works perfect. WTF?!?!? Now I have a MT car so there isn't a relay, could it be the solinoid on the starter going bad and acting up when warm.
I've also heard of 7m starters causing problems, is this a common problem?

Well mine acts up every time I run down the drag strip and shut the car off. I have read about people replacing the starter and it still does the same thing. There is a post in the tech section talking about adding a relay because of the voltage drop. Mine reads 9.7volts at the starter solenoid when cranking and 11.7 volts at the battery. What I am in the process of doing is I spliced a number 14 wire inline with the starter solenoid wire right as it plugs in to the solenoid. That bypass everything. This is only for test purposes. You just have to touch it to the positive terminal of the battery. Make sure you are in neutral if stick and park if a automatic. This bypass all safety features. Mine has not acted up to try this since I ran my wire. When it does act up I'm ready. That will determine if it is the starter or the voltage drop.
