87 Turbo 7M-GTE stick hardtop TEMS and Cruise 90K original
So i finally got the timing down to normal( what a PITA!!) I was having this problem since i bought the car. I noticed( also in mylast few posts) that at my BHG repair my timing was all whacked out. but due to the time it was (4:30a) i just left as is were it was and ran it. The setting was crank at 15 BTDC and cams at TDC not sure what it was with the timing light on it.... any ways it was carrying on real bad at high RPMS knocking pinging the whole nine. right around 3500- 4500 then it would stop and sound good. just turbo was a little sluggish to spool.
Anyways skip ahead a bit. I got my 3" cat back put on..... and replaced some vacuum lines and put an AEM dryflow cone filter on and other stuff. so i finally got tired of the pinging...i know i waited a while not good. i got some time on lunch one day and pulled my car onto the lift. That is were all went wrong! I removed the t- belt and reset the gears to TDC well I did all according to TSRM online and my alldata. Timing light on #6 and jumpered T and E1 650ish base idle 10 +-2 BTDC all is well. I took the car for a drive, and she is misfiring and hesitating like all h*ll. feels like i got a yacht on the back. so i played around with the TPS as sopme one suggested. So it would run great after I did it! But only under partial throttle... any more than like 1/4 pedal and she would do the bucking and jsut sh*tty running. I did notice the turbo spools real quick after the timing was set. Also the stock BOV is a lot louder??? mabey it's just me but what ever. so yea, I have been palying with this car everyday on lunch for the last week and still no progress. I am going to try to get another TPS tomorrow as i found another wrecked 87 turbo parts car about 5 miles down the road from me. I put the tps backk to the line scribed ion it from previous owner/ repair job and she was good the entire way home from work (about 45mins) Just seemed a bit slow for a supra didn't really pull too hard in the gears. so it started back up this morning with the hesitate and bucking and all that happy jazz so yea whats up next i'm stumped.... PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I SELL MY DREAM CAR!!! or even worse make my wife indure another swap ( i've been liking the 1jz swaps i've been seeing :icon_bigg )
