im driving it today, and it had nooo power, it would idle rough, but as soon as it warmed up, it had power! what is causing that?

::bhg::

No compression when cold, but after it's warm the materials can expand a bit and seal up the compression (NO LIE! I've seen it on a Caravan!)

it sounded like it was bogging out though, i would let off the gas, and it would run fine, (still no power), but ran fine until i punched it. it sounded like it was getting too much fuel...as soon as it warmed up though, lots o power! it only has 124,000 miles on it...

how do i check it, and how important is it that i pay attention to it? im gonna use the car as a daily driver...

It's pretty important. If it's biased warm then you'll never get enough fuel when the engine is cold. If it's biased cold then you'l have too much fuel and kill your piston rings. Search around, the testing procedures are probably posted somewhere on the boards.
