Smaller hole than Wastegate Valve? Consequences?

Hello everyone,
I have an exhaust manifold that has about ~34mm wastegate hole.
But I just purchased a Tial 44mm wastegate.
What problems can occur if I don't port the manifold hole larger?
Should I port the Manifold to 44mm as well? Orr...what should I port it to? Larger or smaller than the wastegate?

specs are at the bottom for flange size.
basically the input flange is over 47 mm and the outlet (dump tube) flange is a little over 44 mm.

What turbo will you be running and how much boost do you plan to push?

Port it. No harm in making the hole bigger, chances are you will boost creep if you dont which is not good. ebay manifolds claim to have a set size hole, but if you measure it with a dial caliper its actually smaller

is the flange for the wastegate made for a 38mm? it may or may not work fine, only way to tell would be to run it and see. if its only a 30 some mm hole, id get rid of the 44mm gate and just get a 38mm gate. no reason to go larger if it cant flow it. Is it a tubular manifold or cast?
