I have singled my 1jz and am looking for a downpipe to fit. I have a gt45 turbo and have come up with two laternatives. 1, buy the flange from boostlogic, it's a v-band clamp that goes onto the turbo and has a 2 bolt flange; goes from 4" to 3" on the 2 bolt flange and I would then run a three inch bolt on exhaust. links posted below

boostlogic flange: http://www.boostlogic.com/xcart/product.php?productid=83&cat=6&page=1

bolt on downpipe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...ame=STRK:MEWAX:IT&viewitem=&item=200256393780

On the flip side of this option. I wonder if the bolt on down pipe will hit the fire wall due to being set back from the other flange.

2. I looked around ebay and found this vband flanged downpipe. It has a 3.5 inch v-band flange, which I think but not sure, that will match up with the v-band flange on the turbo and use a v band clamp to seal them together. Link posted below.

What does the back of your turbo have on it? Is it set up for a 3"vband clamp? If so then the ebay downpipe should work, but they don't warranty it to fit if you read the small letters. You should be able to make it work, but it may not be a simple bolt up installation. Good luck.

My new turbo will be here tomorrow and I had to order a 3"vband clamp for my exhaust. Luckily for me I have a welder and can make it work............hopefully.

I just realized that I would have a gap from where the dp ends and where the next segment of exhaust meets. I have a gt45 turbo, it has a 4" outter diameter and a 3" inner diameter outlet

Are you sure it doesn't have a four inch inlet and a three inch outlet? What is on the backside where the downpipe would hook up? It's probably a 3" vband clamp, but it may not be.

It's hard to tell from those pictures, but is that made for a 4" vband clamp? I wouldn't think so because I couldn't find one at Summitt. I wish I was more help but I can't tell what it's going to take to mount that to the downpipe. Maybe you should pm the turbocharger experts on here. You can find them on the main page on the Expert section. Good luck.

ya thats looking like a 4" v-band on that thing. you can either run a full 4" turbo back, or get a 3" downpipe and make a reducer for it

Check this out:

You have the flange on the turbo
p1155677_1.jpg

Then you need a flange for the downpipe of the same size that the turbo is

2 flanges together
p1155677_3.jpg

Need a proper size V-band clamp

Clamp them together :)

Then just have your downpipe made off of that flange. Bolt it up to your mid pipe. It would be like running a 3" DP on a stock exhaust. It'll be fine.

Don't get me wrong, 4" is bad ass and I'd like to go that route but I'm not tryin to change my 3" exhaust I just bought. Check my build page, I'm getting parts in every day. :)

No you can't, unless you change to a 3" vband on the exhaust side.

I'd sell that turbo and get a T61. You aren't going to be able to take advantage of the size of this turbo, with a 1.05 AR and 550s. You won't see full boost until 5500 RPM.

You could also buy a .85 or lower size housing and see if you can find one with a 3" vband.
