Should I upgrade my injectors?

I am putting down over 310 RWHP (last dyno before I upgraded to an aftermarket FMIC). I'm going to be installing machined 2J cams soon but am running stock 370cc injectors. The rest of my fuel system is upgraded and fully tunable. Will I be fine with my 370's or will I need to upgrade to 440's? I believe I'm at the limit for these injectors, but right now my A/F still seems to go to the rich side under WOT. IIRC you are only suppossed to run injectors to 90% of their capacity (333 HP on 370's). LMK what you guys think. Thanks

Adam

That's what I was thinking, but wanted to be sure. Otherwise I would have bought other parts. I'm looking for a clean set of 440's now. If anyone knows someone, LMK. I have PayPal ready.

I should really upgrade mine as well.. 340whp @16psi, stock fuel, AFR 12.0 WOT.

In your case I'd say definitely get those 440's installed man. I'm trying to stay out of the car until I do because I'm afraid of going lean from running such high inj. duty.

What are you using to tune?

Rule of thumb is 90% of injector duty, so for 440's it's about 396 RWHP.

80% duty cycle is recommended which gives you room for spikes and what not unless you brave enough to hit 100% duty cycle. I know someone who ran his 440 to 90% duty cycle and he had boost spikes and guest what. :nono:

oops, my bad, So that would mean max power for 440's is actually 352 RWHP.

I dynoed my car at 355 @ 17psi and my afr was in the 10s. I think I can squeeze a bit more power at 17psi boost and still keep the afr in check below 12.0.

My car must be a freak of nature. I dyno'd mine at 443rwhp @ 17.5psi. I don't know what turbo you're running, but mine was with the gt35r and it also had the crower 272 small core cams. Maybe you were on a smaller turbo.

Jay: Is that with your 1jz? What fuel and ecu are you running? Also, which rollers did you dyno? (Mustang/Dynojet)?

I'm running stock cams, stock ecu, 440s with just a safc and a lousy tune. LOL :biglaugh:. My turbo is capable of much much more, just got to get it tune right.

Yes, this was with my 1jz. I made 543rwhp @ 24psi on a dynojet. I tuned it for the street @ 17.5 psi and it made 443rwhp and 397 torque. I had the crower cams in it and sard 624cc injectors. I was also using the Stinger standalone. I used to be on the safcII and once I switched over to the ems I picked up thirty extra rwhp @ 17psi, but I picked up 97rwhp between 4000 and 5000 rpm as well as 100 extra torque. The safcII does something to your timing when you're pulling fuel out of it and with the stinger you can set your timing wherever you want it. It's one of the best mods I've ever did, and so were the cams. I tune mine to about 11.5 afr's when tuning also. I hope this helps.
