Okay so I had an 88' white N/A years ago, that died. Now I have an 86.5 N/A .430 LSD, and recently bought a 90 white package turbo targa. Anyways the tranny in my 86.5 is all but gone dead on me. I have a tranny i can pick up for cheap, and I do mean cheap. and can then have it put in cheap and done right. In total about 500 bucks to get it all up and running again. thing is I jsut put a 60k motor in it because i bought it for 700 with a bhg and it ended up the block was cracked (doh!). oh wells no biggies, i tossed the other engine in it and got it rolling. it needs the following things done to it though other then the trans.
-New struts & Springs
-Brake pads, Rotors, etc.
-New paint all around (although no dents dings, or rust anywhere)
-New Tires
-New Dash (would like to do Shadow grey interior)
-New hoses all around (I paid for it when engine got put in, assholes never did it, long story)
-Battery, alternator, plugs, wires
-Knock sensor, and wiring.
thats what i can think of off the top of my head. now after paying 700 for the car, 650 for an engine, and 850 to put it all in after removing the old, I've roughly $2200 in the car so far. What i'm asking from yous peoples on the forums here is in your vast experiences with these cars (which i'm sure you all know collectivly way more then me about em) is should I fix the tranny and basically use it as my DD instead of the turbo as my DD? I kind of want to but with the costs of fixing all that stuff and fixing the tranny I feel like I could probably find a good shape NA for DD else where. However this is the first supra I bought for myself (parents bought me my first supra and first rx7), and I kind of have that "attachment" to it for that reason. anyways, opinions please. thanks again.
