Went and re surfaced the header flanges on a belt sander at the local machine shop.

Wrapped my header, installed the turbo and wastegate along with all the oil lines(it's a very tight fit for my drain line being-12). Also got my AEM 5 bar map sensor in the mail today. 3.99$ for overnight shipping! I love amazon prime

Engine is ready to go in this weekend

Got the engine in and mostly wired up. Have a few little things left to do before I actually fire it up but its just about there

Exhaust is temporary until I can get it to the exhaust shop but it doesn't look too bad

Been messing with the ecu for about a week now trying to get it to start, no luck. It fired up once but ran very rough and couldn't get it fire up after that. Hopefully get it figured out soon before the snow hits
It shot flames about 2 feet though when it did run.. So it must have a timing issue

I found it much easier to unbolt the 2 big crash bar bolts, fender liner, and unclip the foglights to take the whole bunker assembly off. Only took 10 mins or so

Anyway, I got the intercooling piping off my old car on and intercooler mounted. Going to get a nice full aluminum piping custom made, maybe pie cut?

Here's some pictures of the progress! Loving it so far

Picked up some wheels, varrstoen es7 18x10.5 and 18x9.5. Should be all mounted up tomorrow on 245 cooper rs3-s and 295's on the back

Still isn't running. I don't believe I'm getting spark. I've wired up a dh61 to get rid of the factory multiplexing but not sure how to disable that setting in the aem box. Going to try and get it going on the stock system first

None so far. I've done everything I know how to do so far, hopefully my dad will be able to help me out today.

Hopefully it's at least running by the end of the month

Pulled the spark plugs, they were coated in fuel. Cleaned them up a little and threw them back in. Car wanted to start but just backfired out the exhaust! I think it's dumping way too much fuel in the cylinders and timing is still a little off on the ecu.

Going to put some new plugs in and try and take some fuel out and see if that helps any.

Getting closer!

fired it up the other day! its usually the simple stuff i bang my head about

injectors #1&2 were swapped on the clips and had to re sync the timing to the ecu.
starts up every time and idles great! has a pretty bad missfire 1500+ though, i still need to figure that parts out

pretty excited its starting and idling great though!

Nice work on getting it started. Must've been frustrating trying to troubleshoot.

That fitment is very damn aggressive, you planning on pulling the arches or run it as is?

My first go with a standalone i was so far out of my depth, luckily i had a friend to help me along the way.

I'm going to roll them for now and run a 275/35 in the back instead of the 295/45's. It should be enough to clear without pulling the fender from some pictures I've seen

Had to order the tires from my work so they won't be here until Monday
