After unwraping all the heat tape I had on the drain line, I ran in to a little kink. I think this was my issue the whole time.

It must have got kinked when I put the final torque on the fitting. Anyway, here is the angle is currently sits at. The oil return for the cooler looks like it would be a better candidate

Ouch, damn that's a sharp bend in that thing. I bet it goes almost flat with that kink.

You don't need to go into the oil pan, just run a 45 off the flange on the block.

I think even a shorter hose might have worked better. Can find -10 an fittings in like 15 30 45 degree angles.

yeah you can see how the line has a kink molded into it from being too long. that is definitely the issue. i would say get some new -10 line and cut it to where it fits better. i think with the hose at the right length you won't need a 45. but thats hose is garbarge at this point. i would try to run the turbo with the drain fixed. it might be fine.

I think you need a shorter line as well. Try to get a drain that offers the steepest angle as possible and minimizes the flat spots. I would never run a return that had any length of horizontal line or fitting in it. If you have room, going to a larger diameter line would probably help, but the -10 return is proven as stated above.

this reminds me of the stupid oil return line on the MR2s. toyota dealer didn't have the OEM pre bent line so I offered to put a soft rubber hose on it but warned the owner he would need to order the OEM hose before the straight hose became too heat soaked. 3 months later he complained of smoking and going through a quart of oil every 400-500 miles. turned out the return line bent and hardened causing a block.

^nice! did your compressor housing have a v-band on the outlet or just a normal flange for a coupler? cause i know the later model ones have the v-band and the wg actuator also bolts to the compressor housing. also just fyi i ported the exhaust housing inlet on mine to where the imprint of the gasket is and the center divider a little bit. might have helped with how it spools so well.

I meant on the part where your intercooler piping go to. It could help determine what exhaust housing you have. I'm considering doing the upgrade on mine but would like to keep the quick spool. Trying to see if we have the same model of hx35. I can't wait to see the results when it's tuned and running properly!

Ohhhh ok gotcha. It was a v band type but I welded on a 90* bend. The wastegate actuator also mounted to the exhaust housing sideways

Almost done
I cut and fitted the new drain and feed lines. I also wrapped them in some heat tape.

This will also be the new angle of the drain line *no kinks I tripple checked. As well as new location for the oil thermostat

have some dyno time lined up for this saturday! i cant wait... hopefully all goes well and i put down some good numbers

i also ordered the morganson's COP S-Type setup plate using dg500 coils
that should be in next week sometime, i'll see how that goes. by the sounds of it, it's as good or better than the is300 coil setup

Ok. It was a good dyno session. I'm not going to steal his thunder and give out the numbers, but I will say that he secured a spot on the HP list. ;)

Looking at the pulls, the car spiked to 17.1 psi of boost, but averaged 16.5 psi. AFR's were 11.2-11.5. We could've gotten a little more boost out her if his boost controller wasn't so finicky. The first pull was 15psi. He made an small adjustment and then we hit fuel cut. Made another adjustment and it settled in at the 16.5 mark. I've never seen a touchier boost controller!

Outside of that, the car did really well and put down great numbers. Good job on the build, Scott!
