setting the cps

Well I read shaeffs write up on how to set the cps and I saw the pic where he had those marks on the rotor, and I noticed that mine doesn't have that paint mark on it, should I just set up that rotor as close as I can to the pic?

Installation is the same on 7MGE and 7MGTE. The GTE just doesn't have the secondary igntion (distributor cap and rotor).
