I search the lighting thread for changing the exterior door lock bulb, I'm probaly I missed it, Where's the thread for this, Or can some one tell me how's it's done? I think it come out from the front.
I'm not sure the lighting thread covered that....as far as I can tell, the only way to change the light is to get a new lock cylinder. I'm pretty sure the light (or led) is part of the cylinder. Mine quit working because the contacts corroded away...so a new lock cylinder was the only solution. I'll have a closer look at the old lock cylinder in the next couple days and report back to you if i find differently.
This may be a dumb question but how does this light work?
My car doesn't have a working one or an alarm remote. My alarm does work and my electric locks work, but I am curious as to how this feature activates, deactivates and works in general so i can fix mine.
if its not working, chances are the contacts have rusted away. This light should activate at the same time as your green circular ignition light (eg. when you pull on the door handle).
Ok my ignition ring don't light up. So it lights up when you actual open the door? Whats the purpose of this, i was figuring it would light up so u can see where to put the key, such as the ignition ring light.
it illuminates when you actually pull on the door handle. there is a switch on the inside of the door handle which activates this light....if both lights aren't coming on for you, I'd start troubleshooting that electrical circuit (if it bothers you enough)
